Retaj Al Rayyan Hotel

The greatest challenge of this project was to redesign the whole building while contractors were working on it. The client decided that they would prefer to have a hotel constructed rather than the residential tower as initially planned and designed.

Al Retaj is a high rise with a real sense of local identity which can not only be seen in the podium but in the overall proportions. Some of the ancient local carvings were used as decorative features in the pre-cast and the curtain wall was integrated so as to provide as much natural light as possible to the hotel’s guests.
