Ibrahim M. Jaidah

CEO & Chief Architect of Arab Engineering Bureau and IJAE

Ibrahim M. Jaidah is an award-winning architect who is known for delivering world-class projects to the Qatari architectural scene. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma (USA) in 1988 and has acquired AEB in 1991. Under his leadership, the firm grew from 6 to over 600 highly qualified employees and expanded its presence with branch offices across Middle East and Southeast Asia. In his professional career, Ibrahim has overseen completion of over 1500 projects, making AEB one of the influential firms in the region.

In each project, Jaidah attempts to retain the identity of his culture while embracing the modern, creating memorable landmarks that help in shaping the architectural lanescape of the State of Qatar.His passion for vernacular architecture resulted in the publication of The History of Qatari Architecture 1800-1950 (2009), 99 Domes Masjid of Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab (2015) , and Qatari Style (2019).

His projects are considered to reflect cultural, historical and environmental context in which they exist. Ibrahim is a dedicated advocate for sustainability and is a cofounder of Qatar Green Building Council.

Ibrahim M. Jaidah is committed to the community where his employees live and work by supporting educational programs, but also serving as ambassador to the local heritage and local traditional architecture.

Scholarships and Grants

AEB sponsors awards to graduating students at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. This not only rewards talented students for their hard work throughout the course, but also encourages entrepreneurship. The firm also offers scholarships to outstanding students venturing into design fields of study.

AEB has played a vital role in 2012 Business Leader Campaign in collaboration with INJAZ Qatar.

AEB has a close working relationships with Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar University, Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University in Qatar.
