Arab Engineering Bureau and Architect Ibrahim Jaidah were featured in Colors of the City Exhibition, which was on display between February 24 and April 30 in M7, Msheireb Downtown.
This dual-themed exhibition presented global influences in the capital of Qatar and unveiled the architectural evolution that occurred in the last century. The historical section highlighted heritage treasures of Art Deco, Classicism and Modernism, focusing on Qatari adaptations of those styles brought about by architects from Europe, America, the Middle East, and South Asia.

The second section explored Architect Ibrahim Jaidah’s narrative, tracing AEB’s works from historical projects all the way to the Al Thumama stadium, which has been a pride of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The exhibition shed light on how Architect Ibrahim’s design focused on harmonizing cosmopolitan and cultural elements. The exhibition also told stories of how the inspiration for his two carpet collections came to be and it featured rarely seen sculpture works from Arch Jaidah’s youth.

Through 3-D models, photos, interviews, and films, Colors of the City threaded Doha’s architectural fabric.
