The Arab Engineering Bureau’s Construction Supervision Department has received the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications, the international standards for quality, environmental and HSE management.
The receipt of such important certification highlights AEB’s commitment to ensure the highest quality construction supervision management and HSE services to its clients.
Developed by International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2008 is a world-recognized standard for quality management. ISO 14001:2004 is best practice standard related to environmental management. And lastly, OHSAS 18001:2007 is widely recognized occupational health and safety management system.
As part of the 5 months long certification process the AEB construction supervision management system; which was in use since 2010; was audited in two stages. First stage verified AEB construction supervision department compliance against ISO requirements, and second stage verified actual compliance of the projects against IMS Manual and Procedures. Complete on-site audit was undertaken by ApPlus+Velosi.
At the ceremony held at Crowne Plaza Business Park Event Center Country manager of ApPlus+Velosi Terry Armes handed over certificates to AEB’s Group CEO and Chief Architect Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah.
Jaidah noted: “Arab Engineering Bureau has 49 years of work experience in Qatar construction market and currently employs 700 construction professionals. Construction Supervision Department comprises of 300 staff who are highly qualified architects, engineers, and project managers. Constriction Supervision Department at AEB hands over 25 projects annually, with a handover almost every other week. The ISO certification is of paramount importance to the operations of our construction supervision department.”
